We believe that meaningful change in our society
occurs through a combination of transforming ideas, strong institutions,
and great leaders. NCF invests in organizations and individuals
who are leading in innovation and willing to take risks. Our
preference is to fund organizations that help mold and change public
opinion in order to generate more support for a progressive and inclusive
government and an active civil society.
We make direct investments
in organizations as well as participate in a number of funding collaboratives,
including a civic engagement project at the Boston Foundation; funding
progressive institutions via The Democracy Alliance; and supporting
a clean elections project with the Proteus Fund.
